God’s Heart of Home
A home, by God’s design, is to be a place of love. Truth. Openness.
Of Conviction. Righteousness. Purity.
Of Goodness. Grace. Mercy.
Of Forgiveness. Joy. Peace.
A home like this does not simply appear.
It is cultivated, tended, cherished.
It is with tender, loving, grace-filled care, that this home comes to be.
God gave women a sacred calling and pursuit in this making of homes.
It has been called oppression.
It’s been called unnecessary.
It has been ridiculed as demeaning and menial.
Those who say such things fail to consider that God’s good design of homes, like the one I described, come from the very heart of Himself.
Who is our Creator and Redeemer.
He is our Home. He is our Rest. He is our Hiding Place.
It is only in and through Him these things are truly possible.
Not just skin deep. But who we, and our homes, truly become.
Homes begin in the heart.
Your home begins in your heart.
And your home will be the overflow of what is in your heart.
If you desire a peace filled, joy flowing, love overwhelming, home, then that is what your heart must be.
If you desire a beautiful home, anger, bitterness, unforgiveness, resentment, can have no part.
The opposite is true. A home that feels ugly, chaotic and stressed, will be the result of a heart that is ugly, chaotic and stressed.
God knew what He was doing when He created Eden, the first home for humankind.
He made it a place of order. A place of beauty. A place of purity.
As Little Christ’s, our homes are to be mini-Edens in a world now ravaged by sin and darkness.
Not by force. Not by manipulation.
But by surrender, grace, and transformation.
Surrender to God as Lord, Savior, Redeemer, and Friend.
Grace through Christ’s sacrifice on the cross and resurrection from the tomb.
Transformation through The Word of God, in His power, evidenced in our lives by the fruits of His Spirit.
The only way to have a heart of home is by coming home to Who your life and heart was meant to be about.
Jesus Christ. The Alpha and Omega. Beginning and End. The Amen. Our Messiah.
Only He can redeem and restore you from sin’s hopeless pit into the Home of His Heart.
If we are to walk in His Ways and Word, we must have His spirit within our very beings, transforming and renewing us daily, moment-by-moment.
In what ways are you displaying God’s design of Home? How can you grow more in the heart of God?
Dear Heavenly Father, I thank You that You sent Jesus to set me free from sin and bring me into Your Heart, my true home. Thank You that You give me the power to live in Your grace as Your daughter, fulfilling the calling You have given me. I ask that as I look around, I would see my work as a way to worship and embrace Your Life more fully, wherever You have put me. I pray that my heart and life would overflow from a heart grounded in and overflowing from You. If there is anything inconsistent with Your heart in my life, I ask that You reveal it and be the strength to deal with it however You ask. Lord, I love You and I praise You for Your marvelous work of redemption, of humanity and of my life. In Jesus Name, I pray this, amen.
