In the spring and summer of 2025, I sensed God asking me to begin a blog and write to young women like myself who want to live in the victory of Christ in all areas of their lives. Including the physical aspect. I have a passion for simplicity rooted in God’s design. I truly believe that when God said His creation was good, it was. And though after the Fall, man’s natural tendency is towards depravity and sin, God’s creation is still good! The design of our bodies, from the arches in our feet to the microbiome in our gut to our hair’s follicles, is amazing! And the more I learn about God’s creation, the more it brings me to my knees before Him in wonder and praise.
There is a LOT of information out there on all manner of topics, but the goal of Blessed Pleasance is not to “spend… time in nothing else than telling or listening to something new.” (Acts 17:21) Rather, as Proverbs 4:6-8 says,” Do not forsake wisdom, and she will protect you; love her, and she will guard you. Wisdom is supreme – so acquire wisdom, and whatever you acquire, acquire understanding! Esteem her highly and she will exalt you: she will honor you if you embrace her.” I have found this to be true in my learning of God’s creation; when we respect it and steward it the way God intended us to, there are so many blessings! As a result I will be posting recipes, reviews, lifestyle “hacks”, and lots more!
Another part of God’s design is our mind and soul. Yes, the body and God’s creation are important aspects of life her on earth, but we must remember that one day, our bodies, along with the entire creation, will perish as a result of sin entering this world. Our souls, however, will continue on for eternity, some in hell, some in heaven with Jesus. And that is the reason we ought to care for our physical lives. Because God calls us as His people to seek the kingdom of heaven and to spread the Gospel to the ends of the earth, we must be able to do so physically. You can’t really live out the Gospel if you were a soul without a body, now can you?
But back to the mind and soul part of our lives. That is another part of the reason for Blessed Pleasance. It can be extremely difficult, in this day and age of social media, easily published and accessed books, Hollywood, and smart things (phones, TV’s, fridges, homes) to find simply GOOD mental and spiritual resources without being dry or (dare I say it?) boring. So I will also be bringing book reviews, essays on various topics, and I may even ask others to write guest posts at some point (such as testimonies, different ministry experiences, and opinion posts). Also if you have any questions, or topics you would enjoy hearing about, email me with your thoughts from my contact page. I would love hearing from you!
And over all of this, I do want to make one thing crystal clear. This blog is about glorifying God. My deepest desire is that whoever might read these writings, you would come to know Christ in a wonderfully deeper way. He is so good and faithful to all those who come to Him.
So glad you’re here!
